[s.f., Jaime Galarza R.] Since 2005, the Isiboro Sécure National Park and Indigenous Territory (TIPNIS) is part of the National Spectacled Cayman Sustainable Management Program. The three spectacled cayman harvests carried out so far under the program, have resulted in economic benefits for households in 30 indigenous communities. This has also shored up conservation efforts by developing participatory protection systems, strengthening intercommunal organization to manage the spectacled cayman, and implementing biological and social monitoring of the species.
